Meet
Dr. Allen J. Weiss

My Background

I am a board-certified non-invasive cardiovascular disease specialist committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care grounded in academic rigor. My training in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, combined with experience in hospitalist and critical care medicine, has shaped me into a meticulous and well-rounded diagnostic clinician.

I focus on identifying the underlying cause of a person's symptoms rather than treating findings in isolation. Careful evaluation, disciplined clinical reasoning, and individualized risk assessment guide every decision in my practice.

Throughout my training, I was fortunate to learn from mentors who emphasized precision, intellectual honesty, and accountability in clinical care. Those principles continue to define the standards I uphold for every person I treat.

My Approach

When I meet a patient, I begin by introducing myself. It is a simple gesture, but an intentional one. Patients often come to see a cardiologist feeling anxious or uncertain about their health, and establishing mutual respect from the outset is fundamental to building trust.

I strive to create an environment where concerns can be expressed openly and addressed thoughtfully. My approach emphasizes careful listening and disciplined clinical assessment, with close attention to each patient’s risk profile and underlying physiology. Rather than reflexively prescribing medication or pursuing unfocused testing, I focus on identifying root causes and developing a deliberate, evidence-based strategy.

Patients deserve clear explanations, transparent reasoning, and a collaborative role in decision-making. My goal is to build long-term partnerships grounded in trust, clarity, and continuity of care.

My Hobbies

A long, long time ago, I used to be a professional chess player, competing on the national and international level. I became a national master and won several national titles. Today I play for fun online, but hope to one day make my way back into the professional arena and become a grandmaster.

I also enjoy all sports, but am primarily a basketball player. I am a devote New York Knicks fan and have been waiting since 1999 for them to get back to the NBA finals. My dream is to see them win the NBA championship before I retire from medicine.
